UPDATED Cryptostorm Creator Held On $35,000 Bail

UPDATE: The case information is incomplete in that it doesn’t show the number of counts for each charge. There’s 1 charge of a felon having possession of a gun, 3 counts of discharging a firearm (the missiles mentioned are bullets) and 5 counts of aggravated assault.
Doug Spink was arrested Monday after going a tad bit nuts (again). He is currently in jail (again) with a $35,000 bond.


Spink was released from prison in September of 2014. This was for violating his parole on an earlier prison sentence for drug smuggling. He was out for almost a year but then arrested last November in Canada after having a crazy spell. He served 5 months and was released in February. He was supposed to serve a 90 day sentence in Washington state for bestiality but somehow ended up living at his mom’s house until he went nuts again on Monday.

As an ex-con, Spink isn’t supposed to be around firearms so stealing his mother’s gun and firing it was not very bright. Assaulting cops was another dumb move.

    • Among his many Twitter accounts, Doug is more recently been using @cryptostud, which is silent now of course. It will be interesting to see how the individuals managing Cryptostorm will try to spin this latest incident to avoid losing customers for their “uncompromised safe haven” .
