The theme of Earth Day 2016 is Trees For The Earth.planting trees. This is the 46th annual earth day and also marks the signing of the Paris Agreement. 
World leaders from 175 countries came together to sign the agreement limiting global warming to under 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees F), as compared to pre-industrial levels. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that February of 2016 was the warmest month recorded and there were several points where the global temperature hit that 2 degrees Celsius. This is the temperature that scientists have long warned about as the point of no return. 

The Paris Agreement may be an example of too little, too late but as murky as the future may look, the cooperation among countries is very encouraging.
