Stolen Valor In The Whitehouse

UPDATE: Bradford resigned on August 31st after comments he made online became known. He claimed he was hacked.

So yeah, I’ve come to realize that to become a member of the Trump Administration the only qualifications that count are to be a billionaire, an accomplished liar or a conspiracy theorist. Trump’s latest acquisition, is not a billionaire but two out of three ain’t bad. Bradford is a nut job. And guilty of Stolen Valor.

William Clark Bradford, aka “Brute” Bradford, is now in charge of the Office of Indian Energy for the Department of Energy. With his impressive resume he’s not your typical, run of the mill, crazy person. Bradford is major fruit cake material, right up there with General Flynn and Son.

The media has been reporting on Bradford’s nasty tweets but there’s so much more to Brute than his Twitter account. On his LinkedIn bio, he makes several outlandish claims, one of them being that he was fired from West Point by Barack Obama. Not true.

Bradford was only at West Point for a month. He was hired August 1st, taught 5 classes and resigned by August 29th. His resignation came the day after the publication of an article he wrote calling for the death of academics who were critical of the war on terror.

Bradford’s article, which appeared in the National Security Law Journal, outlined his theory that law school professors were undermining the war on terror by their criticism of how it was being conducted. Bradford believed these professors should be declared unlawful combatants along with their home offices, law schools and any media that interviewed law school professors.

The article caused some outrage and The National Security Law Journal apologized for publishing the article.

A Message to Our Readers:
This past spring the Journal made a mistake in publishing a highly controversial article, Trahison des Professeurs: The Critical Law of Armed Conflict Academy as an Islamist Fifth Column, 3 Nat’l Sec. L.J. 278 (2015), by William C. Bradford, who is currently an assistant professor at the United States Military Academy. As the incoming Editorial Board, we want to address concerns regarding Mr. Bradford’s contention that some scholars in legal academia could be considered as constituting a fifth column in the war against terror; his interpretation is that those scholars could be targeted as unlawful combatants. The substance of Mr. Bradford’s article cannot fairly be considered apart from the egregious breach of professional decorum that it exhibits. We cannot “unpublish” it, of course, but we can and do acknowledge that the article was not presentable for publication when we published it, and that we therefore repudiate it with sincere apologies to our readers.

But Brute’s article wasn’t the only reason he was forced out of West Point, it seems the credentials he mentioned in the Law Journal article stated that he’d been an associate professor of law, national security and strategy at National Defense University. The truth is that Bradford did some contract work for NDU but wasn’t ever an employee let alone a professor.

Brute Bradford has a history of lying about his credentials. One of the major whoppers he once told has since become a federal crime; Stolen Valor, fradulently claiming military service or awards.

Via the magic of the Wayback Machine you can see Bradford’s faculty bio from Indiana University School Of Law in 2005. Bradford stated he “joined the faculty in the fall of 2002 after serving from 1994 to 2001 in the U.S. Army infantry”. While a member of the faculty Bradford claimed he was a veteran of Desert Storm, was a major in the Special Forces, and was awarded the Silver Star. He wore a Silver Star medal on his coat lapel and his car had a vanity license plate with the gold leaf insignia of an Army major.

Bradford got busted. There were only a small number of soldiers awarded the Silver Star during the first Gulf war and Bradford wasn’t one of them. You’ll see in the FOIA below that Bradford didn’t join the military until 1995, 4 years after Desert Storm. And what he joined was the Army Reserves. He was never in any action, was never overseas and was never promoted above second lieutenant.

A simple Google search by the Trump administration would have discovered Bradford’s resume padding. William Carter Bradford, guilty of Stolen Valor, should never have been employed by the US government in any capacity.

Some of Brute’s writings:

At Hell’s core, Satan, betrayer of G-d, is alone, powerless, ignorant, and hate-filled. He, not Bill, is Hillary’s true soulmate. This, not the White House, is Hillary’s special place.

a Fifth Column in radical Islam’s order of battle undermines American political will from privileged positions within our society. Seditious elites in universities, the media, and government support radical Islam and want us to lose this war.

…radical Islam will be defeated only if Americans, as they have for seventy-five years, remain mentally tough enough to be ready, willing, and able to threaten the destruction of anything and everyone our enemies value—including their women and children—and refuse to be intimidated by false claims of war crimes when the women and children of radical Islam perish in the fights their men start and American men finish.

Now, even the biological foundation of gender is crumbling.  Bruce Jenner, dressed in drag to play a woman named “Caitlyn,” garners honors as a “hero.”  Taxpayers subsidize genital mutilation surgery for teens and prisoners while veterans go untreated for PTSD for “lack of funds.”  Stores refuse to categorize toys by gender and proudly advertise boys playing with Barbie dolls. Schools let girls wrestle boys and allow boys dressed as girls to use girls’ locker rooms.

William Buckley wouldn’t be welcomed on any campuses today–there was a time back before the mid-1960s when campuses had intellectual diversity. Not so any longer. My friend Milo Yiannopoulos and I were at Rutgers recently, and while I didn’t exactly fear for his physical safety, I wasn’t far from that point.

And trust me when I tell you that neither I nor any Apache I know trusts the US or any other government, including our own–which reinforces my point, and the one the Founders were clear to make: the best guarantee against tyranny is a well-armed citizenry.
